Functions

The CEA offers a number of functions throughout the year which include dinners, award ceremonies and our annual general meeting. 

Many of our functions are held at the House of Lords, providing our members and partners with the opportunity to visit and tour one of the UK’s most incredible institutions, the Houses of Parliament.

The David Gunn Memorial Lecture 2018

CEA are hosting the annual David Gunn Memorial Lecture in the House of Lords on the 18th October 2018 with Guest Speaker Pete Waterman OBE DL. 
Pete is the Honorary President of the CEA and has a passion for music, heritage steam and model railways and many other interesting and varied subjects.

 

The price of the event is £125 plus VAT per person, it includes a drinks reception, three course lunch with wine, coffee and truffles.

Part of the day includes the prestigious “Lord Ezra Award for Innovation” which was originally sponsored by the late Lord Derek Ezra MBE, Past President and Patron of the CEA.

 
The award is for all aspects of innovation in the area of combustion and systems that we all work with, Lord Ezra wanted to add his own personal support and commitment by offering a prize, encouraging new entrants to the industry and new innovation wherever possible.

CEA have proudly continued this tradition and submissions for the 2018 award are now welcome. A prize of £750 for the winning entry. 

To submit an entry, please fill out the submission form and return it to CEA. 

The competition is open to all Members of the CEA and their employees.

  1. Submission, entry form above with the Terms of Reference which explains what the Lord Ezra award is looking for within any submission.
     
  2. You need to add a Brief Description of the project/innovation and include a picture or sketch if possible to help the judges decide on suitability. IP will be strictly observed.
     
  3. Or ideally, you can make a full submission now but no later than Friday 28th September 2018 to allow the judges time to assess your entry.
