This guidance explains the requirements of the Medium Combustion Plant Directive (Directive 2015/2193/EU) (‘MCPD’) as set out in Schedule 25A of The Environmental Permitting (England and Wales) Regulations 2016 (as amended). here It explains the scope and definitions and details of how the regulations apply to different types of MediumCombustionPlant(MCP). Itdetails the different permits thatApplicants canapply for and how compliance will be assessed against Permit conditions. Where appropriate, this guidance refers torelevantexistingguidanceandonlyaddressesissueswhereclarificationisrequired.Itdoesnot provide any comment where it is not necessary for example, because the MCPD and SI requirements are clear or are unlikely to be relevant in England and Wales.
